I've got a loop that reads in lines of text from a text file and parses it to store the info in an Oracle database. In the loop, I have a small calculation that determines the percent complete and updates

* a progress bar
* a label

my problem is the label flickers like crazy since its going through the loop so fast, and i think it looks unprofessional.

How can I eliminate that flicker?
