 Private Registration [Resolved]
When you register a domain name with a Registrar site like networksolutions.com is getting the Private Registration
for $9 a year per domain really worth getting or is it a scam? Seems like either way youi are going to get mined once
your in the whois database?

Rob - I've had my domain name for about 7 years now - through several ISP's.
About all I know is that I'm much happier now that I have control over it - I'm the tech contact - the admin contact - the whole nine yards.
What is PRIVATE REGISTATION? Seems like something new to me...

Over at networksolutions.com when you are getting ready to purchase a name you get this option:
Get Private Registration for your domains and prevent "spammer" and telemarketers, identity thieves, harassers and stalkers
who mine the public WHOIS database.
Yes, I plan to be in charge of everything for my domain. No hosting packages or services for me.

Seems like private registration is a joke - since my domain and e-mail are spammed constantly. I get e-mail directed to my server IP address (EXCHANGE box) without going through my ISP - the spammers are evil...
WHOIS is not the only place to find a domain!
