Resolve a thread button.
Wouldn't an option under "Thread Tools" to simply resolve a thread be a good idea?
It would makethings much more simple for everyone.

Re: Resolve a thread button.
Thanks, but similar ideas have been proposed a number of times but all would mean that a hack would have to be written (and most importantly maintained) and we try to avoid that.

Re: Resolve a thread button.
If someone can find a hack for doing this that is relatively lightweight (meaning it doesn't modify too much in the existing system), then I'd be willing to see if I can push it through. This would, however, be asking for an exception to the rules.

Re: Resolve a thread button.
this whole site is php driven, right? I would assume 'hacking' the code wouldn't be that bad...Now, I have to say that i don't really know php but i have seen custom sites based on phpBB before...

Primarily PHP. I may have what I need already.
As stated in the past...
The problem with changing the forum's code is that when the forum is upgraded the custom changes can be overwritten or messed up. Because the upgrades are done by admins, they don't tend to ask before upgrading. As such, we'd have to keep applying and changing hacks for each upgrade. That isn't something we want to deal with, so it is easiest to avoid hacks/ changing the code.

Re: Resolve a thread button.
We have actually added "Mark Thread Resolved" in the Thread Tools menu. This only works for the person that started the thread.

Hehe...yeah something like that:
Brad - For implementing template
NoteMe - For making the template
Heidi - I guess she implemented the code in the php file
VisualAd - Wrote the php code
RobDog - For making the Resolved button that was never used..
Now then it is officialy.
