I received reputation from someone (did not write anything), but the square is black instead of green. I also did not see any change in my total rep points (or maybe a small change, 1 rep maybe...)
So what is that ?

Somebody that has not posted 20 times outside of Chit Chat, or someone that has less than 5 reputation points because they were nixed. Most likely, just a noobie that you helped that was saying thanks. I get more of those than anything else. But, I'm just a nice guy, I guess.

Actually, I don't quite get this: "...or someone that has less than 5 reputation points because they were nixed..."

If you get too many negative reputations, your green box of power turns into a red box of power. Those with a red box of power aren't not allowed to give points (or remove points) from other peoples reputations.
I just looked, and there are three people with red squares for power.

Ahh, so the black quare rep I got from JPnyc ?
He's the only one that has a black square rep in that list, or there are more people with black square rep, but they do not show up ?
[Edit]
By the way, how could BSpamFree have negative rating, if he/she does not have ANY posts ???

Nah, JPync is an admin that has elected to have his ratings turned off. He doesn't rate or get rated. Anyone that has a RED square gives 0 points and GREY squares TO YOU, until they get positively rated back into GREEN squares.
Also, anyone that has less than 20 posts will also give you a GREY square, so you probably helped a noobie, and he gave you a positive (or negative ;) ) rating, but it had no effect. This is either good or bad. ;)
EDIT: Forgot about JP's BLACK square

Additionally, there is a difference between a grey square and a black square. Grey is when the member has less then 20 posts
and 5 reps and they give you a rep. The black is a disabled Rep status for that member.

Also, anyone that has a Red negative Rep power level gives out Grey, zero(0) point, reps. I do not believe that they change into green ones
if the member with the red reps goes green. I have not heard or seen this, but I could be wrong.

I didn't say that GRAY ratings turn GREEN.
I mean if they (RED) get rated them selves, they would be above zero (GREEN) again.
I don't know if it could ever happen, either, but it gives them hope :)

The bright green square is when you reach 500 reps, I believe, you get one bright green square for every 100 reps after that.
