ok, when i do simple things in vb, like go to look at the code, or save or make the program into an exe. a message pops up that says "Vb6 has caused an error in VB6.EXE and will now close". i dont know why this is doing it because normally it has never done that. but now it does.

Have you installed the latest service pack for it? Service Pack 6 (http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/downloads/updates/sp/vs6/sp6/default.aspx)?

Do you have it set to compile for speed, or to use Pentium Pro? Turn them off. Compile with No Optimization.

Install Windows XP maybe? Upgrade to .NET.

Windows 98 and VB6 are both in my eyes anyway, dead, time to move on.

im not buying a new operating system because it is obsolete, and im not buying net because vb6 is obsolete. neither makes sense to do.

its like buying a 60 inch HD tv because my 22 inch tv is "obsolete"

Well, that's your choice. I just can't stand VB6 after using .NET for ages, it's so much better IMO. No need to get all upset.
