Hey, my router all of a sudden decided to change the IP designated to my computer (instead of 192.168.0.7 I'm now 192.168.0.4). While this isn't too big of a problem (as I can always go in and change my port forwarding settings) this could really get annoying If I have people trying to connect and it happens again. Is there a way to keep my router IP static or something? Thanks.

You should be able to turn off DHCP at the router, and then just supply a static address for each machine in your LAN.

You might need to specify the Network Mask that you want to use for your machines, too.

You might have to supply DNS server addresses, and any other info that is requested in the setup.

Reboot the router, and you should be set.

You might want to save the status of the router so that you could revert to it if something goes wrong.

What is your router model. Some models allow you to assign static IP addresses to certain PC's based on the MAC address.
