    I am using the NetBeans IDE development community.
    Any suggestions of tutorials on the net?

    You mean tutorials on NetBeans or on Java?

    The java.sun.com site might have some tutorials which combines it's java programming into netbeans. If your first starting out, I would recommend using a simple text editor. --> it's not very fun but it helps in the long run.
