Hello, Can anyone tell me the difference between a real-time strategy game and a turn-based one?
Thanks

In a turn based game the 'time' waits untill all action points or something are used. That means there's no real time, or better: The time is only in the game, the player can think what he wants to do as long as he wants. Realtime (as the name says) is time-dependant, if you don't move your enemy will kill you for example ;)

Realtime: Doom, Age of Empires, Half-Life, Super Mario
Turn-based: Age of Wonders, Final Fantasy (the fights), Civilisation
