    Controlling powerpoint from VB

I've got a project where I need to supply users a GUI that will allow them to select individual slides from existing powerpoint presentations, then 'publish' a new presentation based on the slides they've selected. The final app needs to be delivered on a CD-Rom.

I'm working on a visual basic app to do the job, but I've *never* used VB and I'm finding it a bit tough - I've abandoned several versions of the project due to unforeseen problems futher down the line.

Is what has been requested even achievable using VB / PPoint? Any pointers would be helpful - even if its just to say that the project is / is not possible to achieve!

    Thanks in advance.
