Internet Radio Station Software

Hello I was thinking of writing a internet radio station suite for my disitation but was not sure on where to begin.

i thought about what was involved and this is what i need help on finding material / examples


Extracting the audio data from the users microphone
Extracting the audio data from an MP3
allowing the user to switch between the 2
sending the audio data over TCP sockets
Making a client that buffers this data
making the client play from this buffer


any ideas for useful articles ?
