It's time for the annual company holiday (or annual company piss up depending on point of view) and this year we are all of for a weekend in Antwerp of all places. Don't ask me why but there is cheap fags and beer to be consumed so i'll be happy. The only thing that I'm not lookinf foward to is monday morning, where if all goes well I will have a hangover from hell. Right, time to get completly pissed and not remember much about the weekend

I do it regulary, but not in a foreign country. Just got back into work now. only 2 hours late after the 9 hour coach journey yesterday. ver very drunk both night's and didn't even know how i got back to the hotel on saturday. last thing I remeber, is being in the club about 2.30 with half a pint glass completly filled with sothern comfort which cost me about £2. Next thing I remember is the wake up call at 7.30 am. In between, your guess is as good as mine.
came back with 1000 marlboro Lights, 48 can's of stella and two bottles of southern comfort. enough to keep me going for about a week.

Damn, where was this again? I am going to Antwerp ASAP!!!! Though I prefer Jack Daniels, Southern Comfort is 2nd favourite whiskey.
I have been in Scotland for two weeks & since everything was on company expenses, I took the liberty of sampling all of the expensive local whiskeys - very nice!!!

ahhh, the joy's of working away for the company. did it last year and racked up about £1000 pound on the company credit card as I had to entertain the client's, although half of that was my bar bill at the hotel

I stayed in £108 a night hotel where they left you a 1/4 bottle (little decanter thing) of sherry which I had each day, after spending about £50 in the bar each night & having a beer with room service. Cool or what !?!?!!

then there is the mini bar trick of drinking the vodka and filling it back up with water. back to belgium. I don't think measures are in their vocabulary as every where I went and asked for a spirit you got a half pint glass with it in for very cheap. I'm thinking of becoming a belgian citizen. Also just as cheap were the fags, at just under £2 a packet, I thought I died and gone to heaven

I went to the Czech Republic, where they have 30p pints. We went on a tour of the Pilsner Brewery, where they give you free samples! <hic>

Stella is for babies.
Grow up guys and drink Leffe, Chimay or Duvel.
You'll feel a lot better and see strange things after drinking it...

Stella is for babies, I'll agreee with that one! :D
You want to try Bailies or Sheridans mate - blow your mind!
Seriously though, I am definitley a spirits drinker (whiskey mainly), I cannot really see any difference with the taste of beer or lager - I am not a great fan, true, but to me there all the same.
PS - someone mentioned to me yesterday his description of the taste of tequila - rats piss & petrol. Not far off there is he, if I only knew the right quantities I could make a killing.

Most Danish beers are pretty strong as well. Well, in Denmark they are. Carlsberg export is generally considered a strong lager over here in England (about 5%) but in Denmark they sneer if you drink that.
A couple of my friends were over there once and 'cos we're from Manchester we thought we could drink anyone under the table. "Mad for it" and all that, so we challenged some of these Danish blokes to a drinking contest.
Mistake.
I have never, ever had a hangover in my life - but after this mammoth event I remained p*ssed for three days. Harrowing stuff.
We were at a pub where the price of drinks changed during the night depending on who was buying what. When lager went down to about 12 pence we'd dash to the bar and come back with tray after tray of beers until the price went up.
We were also drinking some black stuff that tasted a bit like liquorice. Anyone out there have any idea what this was?
