hello,
I am learning ASP and am using Personal Web Server on my local machine. I have an other machine that has a Pentium 100 w/32 megs of ram but it has NT4 on it.
I wanted to set up a network(I have the hub and cable) and have my ASP pages served up from the NT machine.
My question is, would it run slow becouse of the lack of ram on the NT machine? am I better off just using Personal Web Server on my local machine?
the only reason for me to use the NT machine is just so I can get more experience w/ it.
thanks

You'd actually get better performance, better security, if you use IIS rather than PWS, and you can set NT4 to dedicate more CPU to background services rather than foregrond we have 4 NT4 Servers running IIS4, and they run fine with 128MEg rams (about two of them uses 256Megs)

hi pnj
Running a NT server for any type of server, let alone a web server with those specs if inadvisable as it would be slower than a dog with on leg. but if you are using it just to test IIS and get aquainted with it then as long as you don't mind waiting a while and quite possibly alot of crahses, then there's no reason why not. IIS is quite a large program and learning to get around it is quite a good thing to learn as I have reguallary had to work in it, in my contracts.
all the best and good luck
