NT Service installation help wanted!

arrrgh. I've been banging my head over the Win32 API and the WMI APIs over this. I can't install a service I can start! Once installed, I get all kinda of errors/memory problems/etc. when I try to start them.

Is a service app a lot different than a regular app?

Any help would be most appreciated!
