    MSComm trouble

I am having trouble specifying the port number as 22 for an MSComm object since the default maximum port number in windows is 16. I get an error message that says "illigal port number." I have an rs232 multiplexer and my port number is up to 30. Does anyone know how to get around this in vb 6.0.
    Thank you

I think (oops) its not a VB problem but a register problem. Had experience with max tcp connection. Which Windows?
