The man next door was almost beaten to death by a group of travellers on Christmas eve for going to retrieve some of his tools that they stole. He's still in intensive care, has had braain surgery and is at this moment unable to walk. Although the police have the names and addresses of the perportraitors they refuse to go near them.

I know for a fact that not all travellers are like this, the majority are descent human beings, so why are the police so afraid of bringing those in the wrong to justice?
