Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Can API solve my problem
Hi all, maybe this is the wrong place, but i am searching for a solution since quite some time now. i am using the coolbar control ( i should say i want to) in the MDI form. the problem would arise when i maximise a mdi-child form. the mdi-child form when maximised is displacing down the coolbar control by the height of its title bar after its caption gets appended to the caption of the mdi form. i want the coolbar control to stay as it is and the child form when maximised to adjust itself to span the remaining space (like in Sql-server Enterprise Manager). Thanx in advance.

I presume you would like the ability to still maximise the child?
If not, I saw a few posts here on how to remove the maximise capability (and icon) for a form.
I have had a look at the scenario and I think any soultion will be API but unfortunately I cannot give you one.
Hopefully someone else will know.
Cheers
Hi PaulLewis, thanx for your reply. i just had a feeling that i should be able to do what ms is doing. i wanted to keep an idea in mind. i was not so inclined towards the all important APIs due to (!) reasons. i had a hint that API could solve my problem and your reply only confirms it. now i am more inclined towards API and thanx to you i got hold of Dan Appleman's famous book on APIs. Can i keep in touch with you with more problems (doubts on technical terms in the book). will be waiting for a reply at gantibabu@yahoo.com.

Although I didn't see much in there to help out on this topic though.
I like hanging around in the forum for questions/answers because I have been helped several times by searhing old topics and so I think that the more tips/tricks etc relayed through here, the better it is for future users...
But feel free to email me if you need to.
