Compiler won't compile to Native code

When I try compiling (producing an exe) vb6 sp6 project (any project, even an empty form) the compiler gets half way through the compile and then produces an error msgbox with no error message or title. The projects run fine in the IDE and I can compile them to a P-Code exe but I can't compile to Native code. This started happening after installing SP6 but i have tried reinstalling it, as well as installing the original vb6 from CD. Any ideas or suggestions would be really appreciated.

I'm having a problem finding the setup.exe that is produced when run the P&D wizard, since SP2. Maybe I forgot something, but it seems to me that I should be able to find a new instance of SETUP.exe somewhere on my hd. I tried putting in a folder that already exsisted. The last time I did it, I searched for the file, and found it. Maybe I'm having a SP2 issue. Not really sure, though.

    Resolved Solution found.

Well, after calling MS on this and trying everything they could think of, I eventually stumbled on the solution myself. I was looking in my "Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temp" folder and found a bunch of tmp files that started with the letters vb and where read only. I deleted them all and the compile worked perfectly. I have no idea how these files had anything to do with the compiler, but should you ever have this issue, now you know where to look for the solution.
