Hi
I plan to buy an Access Point, but I have a few questions, since I have had some troubles with wireless before...

I have a cabled router...can I connect an Access Point to that, so the wireless network can access my wired network?

Also, does anyone know this product: Linksys Wireless-G Access Point WAP54G, and is it any good?

Are there ANY stable Access Points out there???? I had a D-Link router, but it couldn't maintain connection when transfering large files????

What about the ZyXEL ZyAIR G-500??+

hey i have a zoom router and a SiteCom Wireless access point, and its been running for a week now without any troubles. I have been able to stream music from my server to my laptop(wirelessly) without any problems. Also when i have been copy large file, about 195MB i have still been able to access other resources such as the net at the same time. I don't know what its like with more than with one device on it as only my laptop is wireless.

I trust Linksys 100%. I have one of their old 802.11b routers, and it almost never loses a connection. When it does, it is only for a second or two... Or should I say, doesn't LOSE the connection, but it gets interrupted occasionally.

I got a D-Link 604+ Wireless Access Point/Router/Switch and it has never let me down. Usually you just plug the wireless access point into the switch and it acts as a bridge for ya.

I tried googeling for "linksys <model> problems" and I got thousands of problems saying the newer models is full og bugs....
I have been told that I should use a wired router together with an Access Point....can you recommend one those I have posted in my first post?

PS: I could also transfer 200 Mb with my D-Link, but larger files than that, and it went like this, until the transfer finishes:

I copied a complete backup (3 Gigs) over the wireless without problems, oh, wait. I think that I used a wired connection for that. I have copied many MB's though. Never had a problem.
