Wireless Triangulation

Hey does anyone know if its possible to use wireless networks to triangulate the position of someone who is using the network. I know it can be down with mobile phones, jusdt wondered if the same could be done with wireless networking.

"They" can do it with mobile phones only because recently they built it into the hardware. No such hardware modifications are available for use in a wireless network AFAIK.

i would think that anything thats transmitting can be triangulated. you'd have to be within the range of the transmitter, though. It'd be a lot harder, and need sensitive equipment. not sure how to do it, though.

they've been finding cellphones for years. now it's easier thanks to the 911 hardware that is built into most of the new ones.

Not unless the the 'victem'has setup his connection to allow Ad-Hoc computer 2 computer connections.
Otherwise you'll need equipment to scan for his freq and triangulate to it.

they still transmit info to a wireless router, so everything still applies.
