I think NetZero is written in VB. I say that cuz its slow, sloppy, and takes A LOT of RAM to run.

I don't think so ChimpFace, I assume your kidding, right?
But anyway, what do you want for free? hehe
I mean, they have put a lot into it, that is, if you've seen their comericals and advertisements and stuff.
But all free isps will be crappy.
Earthlink is not free, can anyone tell me if it's good? They keep sending me CDs. I keep them, hoping one day, someone will come up with a machine that will erase everything on the CD, keeping the 100+ MB CDs have and making it usable like a regular disk. (I keep all the CDs AOL sends me too )
Someday, that is, but not today .

Matthew Gates,
Can't you use DirectCD to ready these disks for writing, and use any remaining space as your own or are they set to prevent further writing?
Probably won't work, but it's just a thought. Can't test it myself, I'm at work...

Those CDs you get through the post and that you get when you buy boxed software are not the same as the CD-Rs you use at home to write on. The freebie ones you're talking about are literally stamped out from a master disc, whereas the home CD-Rs have a special coating of some sort which allows a laser to alter the optical properties of the surface.

I think Netzero was written in Java (or it's original version was written in java anyways) far as slow goes, their ISP, are actually using backbones of many other providers, so it's just one big long line of backbone servers.
far as napster goes, I would have to say it was written in C++, or least the internal code was C++, then the rest of the visual, was done in VB.

Use for useless CDs
-Get (or buy) an inexpensive clock mechanism.
-Screw it (pardon) to the back of the CD.
-Bend a piece of wire or plexiglass (depending on your skills) to make a stand.
-And voilà! A real good looking shelf or table watch.
I made quite a few and gave them as gift to friends, customers, etc.

Question: How come ISPs packets (or those two little computer windows in the systray) freeze? Does this happen to all isps? Or is it just the crappy free isps that do it?
And AOL's disk's also are good to use, in the store, regular disks you have to buy by the package which costs about $5. But if you order some from AOL, you got yourself some free disks!
