Prevent file access to system32 folder?

I keep on getting spyware dll's in my system32 folder. They're impossible to remove without rebooting into safemode(pain) and change my start page and generally slow a pretty slow PC down to a crawling point.

Is there a way to stop access of all files going into that folder.

Firewalls kill my PC and setting the IE options to high stops a lot of pages loading correct.

    Any ideas?

Yes you *CAN* stop programs writing to the SYSTEM32 folder but I don't think you really want to... there are lots of perfectly innocent programs that need to write to the SYSTEM folders and you don't want to stop them.

If Firewalls "kill your PC" then you are not using them right.
Download Spybot Search & Destroy to scan, remove and innoculate your machine from spyware attack...

Also - why is this in the VB forum?

Probably a better solution is just stop downloading things that contain spyware. Spyware generallly doesn't just appear on your system. You'd have to install a software that included it. Use spybot, get rid of all of them, and be careful of downloads online. Blocking file creation in System32 is just not a very good idea.

I asked because you don't need to code something to do it - you can just right click on the SYSTEM32 folder, click properties and set the access rights.

Spybot - searches for spyware on your machine, a very good utility.

Ad-aware - scans for Adware on your machine, very good utility as well.

Norton Internet Security - this includes Anti-Virus with updates, and a firewall.

This is all you need. Don't disable write access to System32 folder.
