Hello all,

I want to be able to record a wav file and then turn it in to a midi file. where can i download software to do this conversion.

There are some conversion utilities out there, but they are really poor or sometimes don't work at all. If you compare these 2 files (Wav and Mid) you'll see that the structure is completely different.
Midi (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) - is just so the computer knows what key was recorded with what velocity and when.
Wav - for computer, wav is just a noise.
Now, try to imagine how you can translate a noise so the computer will play the appropriate keys? Although scientists are currently working to achieve this task to be perfect, it is still 90% imposible. The best converter I've seen could translate Wav to MIDI only if that Wav has only one instrument playing and still sometimes it is confused.
