PSU's

This isn't fair, my PC is keep switching itself off. It juststarted today mind I think I've figured out its my PSU isn't outputting enough power :(. The last PSU this machine went though developed a fault with switching on. I then put my spare one in which I think was a 350W (not totally sure bout that though). I figured its my PSU becuase the last time it happened I got a message off my Graphics card saying it wasn't getting enough power and was going into the lower power mode, this is meant to happen if you forget to plug in the aditional molex connector.

Anyway does anyone have any suggestions for where to geta new PSU from? Or maybe what power I should be looking for? I'm not sure how to calculate it :(.

I'm not sure if it's still there, but AMD used to have a really good power calculator on their web-site.

Thanx, I'll check that out. I also forgot to mention I plan to take my PC apart in a bit just to check I ain't got any loose connection or something but i dought it. At first I was thinking it was maybe a spike in the electricity but after getting the warning from the Gfx card I wouldn't think so :confused:.

Thanx for the idea, I googled a PSU Power Calculator and found this one: http://www.adecy.com/psu/

Seems acording to this that I need 548W :eek2: And the current PSU is by no means 500W as the largest I think I have bought is 400W and I'm not sure if thats inside now or somewhere else :unsure:.

I guess this shows I should get a new one even if its not the cause :(.

I got about 360W. Mind I had to work out the extra for the RAM myself cos I didn't find mine in the options :(, (4 sticks of 512MB DDR PC3200)
