Running a dos program

I am wondering how could i run a program that was already written and runs in dos in my vb project and have the vb project get the info from the dos program already made.. such as the ping program in dos

I think it can be done but is a bit complicated. I do know that if you just need to find IP's you should repost under Finding IP's. I saw someone got an answer to that a few days ago.
