algorithm
Hello!!
I am new at work and my task is to continue what my predessor was doing.
He was working on a number generation algorithm and use to produce code numbers like 1031082728, 1041072728, 2202297820,2302287820
Now he has left us without leaving a trace of what he did to produce this code, I was wondering , is there way to understand what is common between this numbers? Is there any program to undo this?

How many numbers do you have....you need a LOT of number like that. And even then it is best to make a simple app to try to find a patern.
Don't you have the code or the app he used?

In the first 2 numbers, the 3rd and 6th number is incremented.
In the second 2 numbers, the 2nd and 6th number is incremented.

Heh, I would just start over... Whatever it is you're doing.
Seriously, was he just bored making an algorithm for something to do and now management thinks it was the cure for Cancer or something?

Hi,
I have found out that these numbers have "270" and a date is embedded in them.
Will it help?

10 3/10/82 728
10 4/10/72 728
220 2/29/78 20
230 2/28/78 20
if these dates look right, then do the others make a product number somehow?
that's what I'd make out of them...
