Startup disk and viewing the hard disk *RESOLVED*

On my PC when I put in a startup disk and I select the startup method (with or without cdrom support) I get to access the hard disks... A friend of mine tried it (even with the same disk) but couldn't see the hard disk Any ideas?

Hard-disks could be broken, or they could be using NTFS.
What operating system is the machine running?
On the start-up disk, try running fdisk.exe, and see if you can view the hard-disks there.

If you cannot, then open up the computer. See if the hard-disks are attached. Reboot and check if they're recognized during the system post/startup...

Another option, which is far far easier, is to just take the hard-disk out, and fit it to a computer running Windows 2k or XP
