What's exactly wrong with the US?
First they are buddies with Pakistan who actually harboured and helped Al Qaeda who shamed the US. Then Bush ridicules the 9/11 committee findings about the nonexistent Saddam - Al Qaeda ties because he doesn't have proof of it and they couldn't find proof of it. Then Chris Columbus makes a Harry Potter movie that couldn't have been farther from the book.
Is this the "American Dream"? Is it going to get over anytime soon?

Actually the harry potter movie went with the book, though they may have made some cuts here and there for time.

Sorry, just pissing myself laughing at this.... with all that's going on in the world, you're worried about Harry potter?
Sure America has some things wrong with it at present, but it also has a lot of things right with it. No country is perfect. I could point to India and note that the caste system still seems to be in existence, that your young girls from poor families are farmed out as prostitutes, and don't even get me started on Bollywood

It could have been farther from the book if it had been called "john smith and the ice cream cone"

Well, by mentioning Harry Potter, I was just wondering if that's typical of an American. Taking liberties is fine to a certain limit, but when you start distorting the scenes in the book just because you have to make a 90-minute movie out of it, I just can't understand why should one bother with the movie and why not pick up and read the book? Just after ten minutes of watching the movie, I told my brother it sucked and I wanted to get out of the hall by interval. Was the book converted into a movie because people in the US don't read books? I guess the locations also were changed and Harry and other characters appeared more American than British.
Bollywood? I am with you on that. That's one big shame on our country.
Yes, no country is perfect, but I doubt if any other country claims to be.

With actual true to life Brits playing the parts as well. I think even the owl's, frogs, and snakes were British to. The cars were definitely British.

Agreed, I'd go as far as to say they shamed the whole Muslim world by performing such a dastardly deed in the name of Allah.

Er, not trying to belittle the events of 11th Spetember 2001 and, but why should it crash the economy. Like I say, it's still a massive tragedy, but one that a nation of almost 300 million people should be able to weather no problem. 3,000 people die every two days in the US from cancer.... Sorry, horrific though the event was, it should really be no more than a blip on the countries economy. I realise there is a knock on effect with travel etc. but at the end of the day this is counteracted by patriotic buying.

Maybe the shock that such things could happen in the US itself? There are other countries suffering much worse on account of terrorism. None of them has isolated itself so well from the world as the US. That's why I said the Al Qaeda shamed the US. It's a shame that the nation which calls itself the most powerful on earth has to feel so insecure.

Lesbian movies? I guess there have been about two or three so far, but I don't want to spend money on the tickets just yet. Let me ensure you don't feature into any of them before I buy the tickets

America isnt used to it. All nations fight terrorism (look at Israel) its just America can do more damage. They are reacting in no strange way and they are no different to other nations.
Maybe its time to stop thinking America is any different and bare in mind it is larger and has a larger military ability. I am certain most countries attacked by terrorists throw allot of their military resources into fighting it. You also have to remember this is one of those few cases where the terrorists arent bordering America and are attacking it for no real goals other than to destroy and damage the country itself.
