Spam [Resolved]

The last month I have started to get spam on in my mail. Does anyone know about any good free smap killers?

Using Oulook XP BTW.

Didn't you ask this once before? Someone did. Anyway, if you don't mind the upgrade, Outlook 2003 has a great spam filter not to mention a much nicer interface and it will always be inline with the newest spam filter rules things that Microsoft release also, they do update the spam filter from time to time, works quite well.

Mmm, must been someone else, oh well. Yeah, it's an excellent buy, I love it to death, and the features work really well, I'd also strongly recommend that you download and install the Personal File Backup utility that's located in the downloads area of the site in Outlook 2003. Top little tool, works great.

One more question tho'. Can I save all the emails, and folders and contacs from Oulook XP and import it in Outook 2003, or is the files not compatible?

just save addbk as csv file, can import to webmail like yahoo also

Yeah, without a doubt, if you do an upgrade, it will update it for you.

The octopus (PopFile) rules. I have been using it for about a year now and it hardley every yields a false positive.

It was even a Norwegain version there...:D....but I have some problems with potty training here...I have said that the mails from jupitermedia are going in the inbox, but it still won't listen...:(

Checked again. And it actually classifies it, but in the subject line it still sais:

[Unclasified]

Does it do that to you too on all the mails?

I got it now...I first had to press re-classify then classify after that....:rolleyes:...

ok..got it going now. Will try it out for a while.

But isn't this actualy just a wrap around the build in teacher in Outook. At least I found out that there was a buildt in teacher in Oulook reading through these FAQs..:D

You will get a few unclassified e-mails at first but as you train it; it will get better.

You get PopFile to add an X-Text-Classification header to the e-mail instead of modifying the subject line. It makes it look neater.

Also - PopFile works better if you have a small number of buckets. I have 4 and have 98.9% accuracy.

I have at the moment 2...:D....but every time I get new spam from a new mail adress, I have to teach it where to go. Did I miss anything. Becase there will always be spam from diffrent mail adresses...

Well it analysis the whole e-mail - not just the address. Whnever you reclassify and e-mail it gives each word in the e-mail a statistical rating associated with the bucket.

I'm not sure of the mathematics behind it - but I know that if it yields a false positive and you reclassify, the rating of each word is given a good bashing.

You could also try Ella, supposed to be the best, seen many reviews and it came up on top. Wouldn't put down Outlook 2003 though either, still an excellent buy :bigyello:.

I don't have the time to set up Outlook 2003 before after my exams anyway. So I will try anything that can be tried before that. Then if it's not good enough, then I will buy Outlook 2003.
