    Changing System Sounds

    Anyone know how to change Windows system sounds with a VB application? API call?

    I want to change the new mail sound to my own wave file.

    It may be a bit of a hack but you can change the registry key that sets the sound. It starts in the root:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\
    with the default sounds at:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\.Default\
