Question : Security Issue,Running programs on a net workdrive
I've upgraded a program from VB into VB.net, and we need to run it on a network drive.
We don't want to have to change configuration settings for 40 + users, since we only have two very busy programmers and users span different buildings.
I need to be able to open up access and print out a report from the program, but when the application resides on a network drive (intranet) I don't have the permissions to do this. Is there a way in the code to change these permissions, or to allow the code to run as FullyTrusted? Is there another way to open an MSAccess object that won't trip off a security exception?
My gut instinct says that the answer is no, but my supervisor wants to be ABSOLUTELY SURE we can't do this. A reply from MS people would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
