i have one question to ask u all

hi, i have a question to ask, that is when i develope my vb application into a package right, why i can not install in other PC, the system always prompt me to restart my com.

when i restart my com and i try to install it again, the system still prompt me to restart the com again.....can some one tell me why.

the only place i can install the package is where i build the package.

Maybe you have some program like DeepFreeze installed by your Administrator.

because you dont know how to package you app.

you need to post more info if you want help. what are your dependencies? what packager did you use? are you installing the proper runtimes? etc, etc.

this is the error i get:

setup cannot continue because some system files are out of date on your system. Click OK if you would like setup to update these files for you now. You will need to restart Windows before you can run setup again. Click cancel to exit setup without updating system files.

I HAD EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM !!

The only thing is, I did not figure out how to fix it. Instead I used another setup program, I used Inno Setup, and I solved my problem like that.

By "webby" I think your asking for a web-site ?

If you search on google for "Inno Setup", first in the list is their web-site:
    http://www.jrsoftware.org/isinfo.php

The thing is that it is quite difficult to get started, at least it was for me. But you will find all the info that you need in their FAQ section.

Do we live on different planets ?
I don't understand your "webby" thing, and you don't understand "difficult to get started"...

It is difficult to use, it's not like "Package & Deployment Wizard" where you make your choice, press next, and so on. You have to write a script to tell the installer what to do, what files goes where, and so on.

You should checkout **********. It's a program that'll take your vb project file and help you create a innosetup script.

For the most part it'll select you dependencies for you.
