Getting External Input

I am looking for vb code or samble of how to get the user input to any program just like Microsoft Word and add these inputs to a text box.

What I am trying to do is:
I want my program running and watching the input of the user to for example Microsoft Word and when user input something like 'testing' then a message box will be fired from my program and telling the user not to continue or I can make any other command.
Hopefully my quistion is clear and thanks alot for your concern.
