Can you help:
There is a problem with the URL file:///c:/con/con
When anyone clicks on it or opens it etc, it causes the computer to crash.
WHY?!

its not a problem, it is suppposed to do that, for some odd reason.

Hehehehehe. It's a bug in the Windows 95 kernel. In Windows 98, it just says that it executed an invalid instruction, then kills it quietly. I think W95 dies completely. BTW, NT has never had this problem.

This is too weird.
You'd think Microsoft would have fixed it in Win98!
With this, you can crash peoples computers when they visit webpages (using the image tag), e-mails (again, with the image tag) and just plain hyperlinks. Pretty scary stuff if you ask me.
It's great on some forums though with the [IMG] command enabled - you can really cause damage!
When you said Windows95 just "dies completely" - what dyou mean?

On my copy of W95 I got a BSOD. And it went downhill rapidly from there.

Well, I have win98 se and the problem is still there, but my little brother has win98 se and on his version it is "fixed" so I think it depends on the version you have...

W95 - kills it.
W98 - kills it after two goes.
W98se - mentions problem, no effect.
NT - no effect.
