Okay... I know this can be done with API somehow, or with registry calls... So how exactly do you set the taskbar to autohide? Just hiding the taskbar isn't good enough...

Worst case, program crashes and the taskbar isn't shown again so the novice user can no longer do anything.

So setting the Taskbar to autohide would be ideal, I've seen at least 4 explanations on how to completely hide the TaskBar, but that's not what I want to do...
