!HELP! Listing Drives, Dirs and Files

I know i can do this with the VB File, Dir and Drive listboxes (or combo box in drives case), but i would like to be able to do it using API calls, the VB controls are very slow when processing the data in them in loops.

I have tryed one source from VBCode.com but that did not work, it used sendmessage, which i thought was a bit odd.

Please help, if you can't ask your mates, please!
