Try shorting out the backup battery (I don't take responsibility, BTW).

Before you can search for some CMOS password cracker, you must write down what type of CMOS you have.

After numerous attempts to try and break the password, I boke open the box and removed the battery (power code removed , of course). This reset a Gateway machines.
Good luck.

Other than a program that tries to guess it you'll be out of luck.
There is ususlly a jumper on the motherboard though that clears the cmos settings. if you open it, boot the system once (it won't boot fully) then close it again and boot normally. you'll have to redetect your HDDs but the password will be gone.
On older motherboards the battery wasn't removable (386s and some 486s)

Catch 22
I have known several people with this problem. I never heard of any solution other than shorting out or removing the CMOS battery, as described in previous Posts.
If a program could be written, what computer would you run it on? If you could use the computer with the unknown password, you would not need to crack the password.
This seems to be a classic Catch22.
