Why is there not as many java programmers as there is vb programmers? is java dying out? or is it just to hard?
or is it not as usefull??
I for one like it..the only trouble am having is type casting a integer to a floating point...but i suppose it's cause am tired.
Good night!

And it will be for a while yet.
The reason you probably see more VB'ers is because employers just love the RAD aspect of the language. You can put together a fully functioning app in little or no time at all.
However, as soon as someone says "Linux!", most all will turn to Java or C/C++. And more would probably lean toward Java, again for the shorter development time table.

I've just had word from a good friend to say that Microsoft have lost the right to code or distribute Java with their OS's, as Sun won the battle in court. All future Java distro's will come directly from Sun, so we can all kiss goodbye to a stable Java environment. ;)
I don't know if there's any degree of truth behind that... but he's usually right on the mark! :p
