i have recently bought a new pc, and as u would expect, it has windows XP, i also have a few old DOS based games and i can't install them, is there such a thing as a DOS emulator perhaps that i can download, the only way i can think of gettin round it is to get a second hard drive or partition my first one, and install an earlier version of windows...

1. Are you aware that games have come out since the ones you are trying to install?
--
2. Just kidding with you about number 1 because I have installed some of these wonderful games that you speak of before.
--
3. You can't install them at all or can you install them, just not run them?
--
4. Try right clicking on the root setup and click properties, then click the compatability tab, then enable the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" checkbox...then select Windows 95 (As seen in the Figure below)...click apply and try it out.

Most should still work, (Good ole' Wolf3D) but if not and you can get an NTFS reader prog, you should be able to make a boot disc or CD and get it going that way.
