Every person has a certain kind of fire wall that stands before the information that a person belives. A certain times (in the day) you lower your fire wall, and at others you rase it. the more smart a person is, the more fire walls they have, and after the stuff passes the fire wall, its taken into a little room, and observed at all angels, then a person beilves what the other person is saying. not everyone will understand what I'm saying becuase it takes skill to be able to understand it. my theroy explains why some people do not beilve anything unless they are positive, and others belive almost anything. this is very complicated to understand, and not everyone will understand it. and if it makes sence to you, please post it saying that it does.

Is this the same sort of thing as the No 7 theory?
It starts about Here. (http://forums.vb-world.net/showthread.php?postid=92577#post92577)

I understand perfectly what you are saying... though it is an interesting way of explaining it.
Genetics is a wonderful thing... It places within the human mind an open acceptance of everything when we are young children. We could tell a 5 year old that mud was chocolate and they would believe us. The reason for this is that with this high level of susceptability it is easier to learn and absorb information.
As we get older there comes a point when this acceptance of things is reduced. It is reduced by what is a filter (your fire wall) that is the application of common sense and logic. Those items which fail the requirements of this "fire wall" are disposed as being untrue while those that meet these requirements are allowed in. This is the reason why older people find it harder to learn things (The classic saying "You can't teach an old dog new tricks"), because their ability to absorb is reduced by this firewall interfering with how readily information is absorbed.
The problem however comes in the definition of that fire wall... Your idea of it being "lowered" at certain times of the day I would turn into certain times of your life. The human mind is an incredible structure of redundant and emergency systems... such that it is capable of maintaining mental health in even some of the most attrocious conditions
Women who are raped often block out the event, altering their firewall to exclude ALL details. Its a safety mechanism.
This is the bit other people don't like though... When someone reaches a point in their life where their ability to continue to function mentally is threatened (such as the death of a loved one or the realisation they will be dust when they die) then some people adust their firewall to allow the existance of a God in. When this happens their firewall has been totally redefined such that it will completely and totally expell anything that contradicts this new belief... because if they allowed it inside the firewall it would destroy their mind and reduce them to the state they altered to get away from.
This is where Mr Number 7 comes in.... For it perfectly describes an alteration in the firewall that is both illogical and impossible and yet the person functions perfectly as if he sees the world differently to everyone else.
So what I try to do is seperate my "firewall" from the core of my mental being in such a way that it does not require altering to maintain functionality... To be able to compartmentalize the mind in such a way that information can be looked at without effect upon the psyche so that my firewall remains as it is, in tact and logical, common sense and reason... with nothing inside that requires protecting or defending. Thus the firewall allows information to pass inside regardless of its source or validity... but instead it is directed towards the appropriate place... One of fact and belief or one of unproven assumptions and disbelief.
Let me know if you understood this ;-)

I understood every word, and you are correct, but these "fire walls" also seperates the smart from the dumb even if they are like 28 and also, the "fire walls" are reduced when you are hearing it from a person that you trust, and tells the truth, becuase it all depends how someone explains something to you and who it is.

Perhaps that is where I am going wrong them ;)
I listen to everyone equally and base my firewall going down on whether they have something decent to say or not.
I agree most others think of the person and how they are perceived first... end even I on occasion overlook a pearl of wisdom because I considered a person couldn't come up with something I was interested to hear...
THe important thing is that we try to minimize these times, so that a person is not judged on their past words but on what they actually say at the time... without prejudice, without emotions and without any pre-determined expectation of their answer.
Of course this isn't easy to do

Very interesting...
Ever meet those people that have NO "firewall" whatsoever, there called "Gullable".
I had a friend who was very gullable..and he stopped being my friend because i was giving him some advice on some bad people that he hung around with, they would take advantage of him left and right..they would trick him into buying them food or to do something that they didnt want to get caught doing, and he would go right along and do whatever they said.
He told his friends that i was giving him bad advice and that i am a bad person and that he is afraid of being around me cause i do bad stuff!? haha talk about brainwashed!!
See what happens when you try to be nice to some ignorant people?

Welcome to the world of Prioritized Enfeablement :D :D
Some people are willing to suffer or sacrifice things (such as paying for food etc) in order to gain something that they consider to be more important than what they lose.
Perhaps your friend considered their friendship to be worth forking out money and that you giving him "good" advice in ditching these people was seen as an attempt to REMOVE that which he placed importance in .....
A person will always react in such a way as to deny and put down that which they view as the source of taking away something they value and in never being able to see that which they sacrifice to get it.
Its called "self-dellusion".
An interesting after effect is that the more you make this person realise their error in judgement the more angry they will get at you and deny it... not because they don't see it but because you are highlighting the fact they made a mistake and people of that ilk HATE being made away they are wrong.

It's very simple. All you do is select the appropriate filter for the situation.
If you are talking to a salesman you select a thick one.
If you are talking to young child you select a very thin one, or none at all.
