[RESOLVED] Visual Basic 6.0 - MDAC.cab Files (Resolved)
Hi,
I didn't know where to post this but I have just re-installed VB 6.0 and it got to about 90% and an error occured. The error was that one or more of the MDAC.cab files couldn't be read off the cd. I just pressed ignore when this happened and continued the installation. My question is this: How would not having the MDAC. cab files installed with VB affect when I use the program?
Thanx In Advance

It's database access, so it might be an issue for you.. but the good news is that you should install a newer version anyway - I think MDAC 2.7 is what most people recommend (download it from MS).

I don't like MDAC 7. It is buggy as hell. You at least need SP 1 to use it proporly. MDAC 2.8 is out but it has not included things as Visual FoxPro ODBC Driver, MS Jet and stuff like 2.6 has. So if you are going to use that you have to install that too. Or just go for the old 2.6.

I downloaded MDAC version 2.7 from www.microsoft.com, I won't be doing much database programming anyway (if any) so I doubt I would need the file.
