Good luck Parksie, I'm sure you'll do fine. You're a first year are you?

I think I did basically the same ones. I've just finished my first year of university. I took Physics, Maths and Computing. Are you following the MEI maths textbooks? I did exactly the same modules in the first year.

We all did really badly in our first year Computing exams too, worse than we expected anyway. In fact my computing exams were my worst results (except for AS Electronics but that doesn't count). I did alright in the end because I got something like 95% and 100% in the two coursework modules.

If you can do OpenGL I doubt you had any problems with Pure 1 and 2 ;)

Anyway as I said, good luck mate, you'll do alright I'm sure ;)

Sam Finch - Yes, what we've been taught is complete bollocks, but I know better, thanks to actually KNOWING how to turn a computer on before taking the exam :).

HarryW - We're doing the MEI textbooks as well (we're currently learning Stats 2, Pure 3, and Mechanics 1 / 2). Thanks for the support...and yes, I am a first year, soon to be second year. Although I'm going to take a gap year before attempting to take Cambridge by storm. My first IT minor project, (42 out of 45), I got the highest mark in the year by about 10 marks, and the lowest mark was 4...some people have been listening to the teachers too much.

All sounds very familiar ;) I did the mechanics modules too, but I'm surprised you're doing stats 2. That's 7 modules in all.

I expect your Physics course is the same too. We did P1 (simple mechanics and properties of matter I think), P2 (fields and electromagnetism) and P3 (err.. stuff.. thermodynamics, photoelectric effect.. I think) in the first year. In the second year we had a choice between P4 - P8. I did P5 (electronics basically), P6 (more mechanics) and P8 (particle physics) for my 3. Does that sound familiar? If so I would recommend definitely doing the particle physics module, it's really interesting (I think). P5 was easy cos I'd done GCSE and AS-level electronics already. I can't remember how many times I've been taught Ohm's Law :)

First year computing coursework is a bit harder than the second year, strangely enough. You'll probably get 100% in the second year one, only bit I wasn't sure about was the testing bit, but obviously I did okay :)

Hopefully you did alright in your exams. I was probably the best programmer in my class, and I'm pretty sure I had the best background knowledge of the subject, but I still cocked up my computing exams. I even retook one module in the second year and got a worse mark ;) Got a B overall.

Shame I don't apply myself like you obviously do - I've looked at your OpenGL tutorial and your posts on the C++ forum and some of the stuff you know is remarkable.

Anyway blah blah blah good luck again mate hehe :)

Good luck!!!!!!!!

Here's what I got...

Pure 1: A
Pure 2: B
Stats 1: A

Physics 1: B
Physics 2: A

IT 1: B
IT 2: A

And yes, IT01 is hard because it has an essay question at the end - and I'm no good at essays. HarryW - thanks for reading my tutorial :). I needed feedback.

Congrats :D

What does that all add up to, it looks like it's roughly AAB(or did you take 7 A levels), and is it good enough?

They're only modules, so I won't have any info until next year, when I take the others.

Yeah well done parksie! Good grades there :)

Just don't make my mistake and start erm... well.. doing... things you shouldn't be doing in your second year. Erm... less said the better I expect. But don't do it! :D Well not too much anyway ;)

Good luck for the next ones too :)

I took personal offense at that comment.

Didn't mean any offence...just that you'd like the questions because they BEG for silly answers...which you're good at :).
