Hi All.

I'm spending a bit of time with good ol' bash... and was just wondering how to configure /sbin/shutdown feature in Mandrake 9...

Anyone any idea's?

I've already configured it in webmin, and the kernel logs the user's attempt to login... but the box does nothing!?!?!?!

If I try to SU to halt or shutdown, it tells me i'm not a superuser (which granted i'm not with Linux) but you know what it meant! :p I've already logged in as root BTW.

Cheers...

Forgot to add...

It's only an AT mobo... just incase the command requires an ACPI compatible mobo.

Eagerly awaits a brainbox's response... :D

If you HAVE logged in as root and it doesn't work, then I would guess you need ACPI on your Mobo. If you are not logging in as root, make sure that the user who will be executing shutdown has full rights to the file. More than that, I'm afraid I can't help.
