    CPU usage by .Net Application

My application always have 97, 98% of the CPU usage.

Does have anyway to fix that?? Or optimize for Pentium 4, or something like that??

And it is consuming 20Mb of memory, i don't think that it's an application so big that consume all this memory and all this CPU time.

    Thanks for anyhelp,
    Guilherme Costa

    what does your app do?
    Tips:
    • Google is your friend! Search before posting!
    • Name your thread appropriately... "I Need Help" doesn't cut it!
    • Always post your code!!!! We can't read your mind!!! (well, at least most of us!)
    • Allways Include the Name and Line of the Exception (if one is occuring!)
    • If it is relevant state the version of Visual Studio/.Net Framwork you are using (2002/2003/2005)

Your app should defintely not be utilizing 97% of your CPU at idle, at really, even at full throttle, you must have a design fault.

20 megs is fine for your app. If you open up your app, then minimize it and check the Task Manager, you will see it uses considerably less. Then maximize it again, and it still uses less than when originally loaded.

    its true!

.net application attracts lots of resources. if running for the first time its too slow. someone has posted a nice article abt it in the forum. i dont have much time to search it for u. but its said that after loading ur application, if u minimize ur application and restore it, the CPU usage will fall to an great extent.

hope its just a hint for u.
