    PC burntout

My computer just stopped dead as though someone pulled out the power plug and i could smell something burning. Now when i try switch it back on its lifeless, i dont even get as much as a light.

I was planning on upgrading soon anyway but before i splash out I was wondering if theres a way for me to check if its the power box/processor/mother board?
My software never has bugs. It just develops random features...

its probably the power supply, run out and buy another one, put it in and ten see if it works. if it doesn't take the powersupply back. but it will probably be the Power supply... how many devices do you have hooked up to your PC? (Cdroms, harddrives etc)

DVD player CDRW an 2 hard drives think that could be the problem? The power supply i've got now is 300w would it be best going for a higher one?

    Thanks

Depends on your motherboard, cpu, and ram.

    I'd suggest atleast 400w.
