Where are start up items located?

    Hi,

I have got some sort of annoying program running in the background that hijacks my mouse. I looked in the Task Manager and see some sort of mouse.exe program running. So I looked in the Start Up folder and there is nothing there.

So my question is, where is it that I can find programs that are set to run at start up? Any help would be appreciated.

    Visual Studio 2010

go to run (from the start menu) type in Msconfig and it will have all the startup files.

They are BTW stored in multiple places in the registry and in some .ini files but don't worry about that MSconfig usually lets you access all of this things.

Use a registry editing tool to navigate to the following key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
PC performance buffs have long measured hardware advances using a few simple metrics: Is it faster? Is it bigger? Does it have more blinky lights?
