Smilies in [code] tags

When posting code, could we have smilies disabled inside of [ code ] tags? It gets a bit annoying if you want to post some code but forget to turn smilies off, or if you need them elsewhere in the post.

I think this may be a little tricky because of the way the posts are parsed from the database, but I'll discuss it with John and see if it's possible.

Is John back?

Or dig you have to drag him across the Atlantic? (That is assuming you are US based). If he is back, ask him if he and Mrs. Le Pont have broken up yet, or if he's brought any Savoy Aire or Camembert back frm France. Also, tell him that unless he get his lazy ass back in that office pronto, he'll get hate mail from us angry VB-ers.

I think they're UK based...not sure though. Maybe you should stop being a programmer and become one of those people who writes the really bad jokes inside Christmas crackers :).
