Well, W32 means Win32, ie a virus which runs in a 32bit Windows environment.....a lot of the most recenet viruses have been written in VBScript!!

What are virus writers motives? I mean if they are intentionally spreading viruses, they know that they will probably go to jail if they coded something good enough....or bad enough...
The only thing I found was this. A little scary.
"We need to rid our selves of all the computer illiterate users." says one anonymous virus creator.
from spywareinfo.com
But I was thinkining that wasnt everyone a beginer at one point? *ahem*

I have only seen virus code once, and that was written in Perl...but that is a couple of years ago....I think CyberSurfer is right. Most are using VBScript today. Not many uses ASM. The code is way to advanced these days that you need a lot of effort to write it in ASM. But a lot of hacking tools are still made in ASM....because you can reach so deep into the computer with it....

Do you talk about me??? I know some ASM, but not very much I am afraid. It was fun learning it. But I don't think there is much use for it these days.....
