Hardware Use?

To take advantage of the newest hardware advantages...do you need to do any special coding with vb? I know if you were coding a game in C++ it would be possible but how about vb? If you are using directx does that take care of it on its own or do you have to do anthing special in vb. Im talking about taking advantage of SSE, 3DNow...ect

To use things like 3DNow! you need to do some Assembler programming, which isn't available to VB. Although, if you put it into a C DLL, then you could get it that way. Unfortunately, unless it's very complex, the time cost of the extra function call will make it a pointless exercise.
