    Anyone can help me to test this example? Just some configs

    I've been looking for this example for a month back , but I can't get it to work . I mean how can I configurate it to test if it's really working or not . ah , you need to download it off this link to understand what I mean .

    What's the email server of hotmail and port number plz ?
    I used mail.hotmail.com and many things but didn't work .

    I have no idea...I set it up to check my work email. I sent the test from my hotmail account To my work account.

    I think the problem is that hotmail doesn't offer pop3 access. They used to (so you could check hotmail with Outlook Express), but they stopped offering that.

    But how this MSN Msnger alerts when new email has been recieved . I want to do something like that ? any hints , code , link ..etc.

    You need to use the Messenger API's in order to send alerts

    Hey Pirate, were you able to do anything with the alerts? I haven't had the time to really look into the processes...

    Not really , I added that to my 'todo' list . I'll finish some UI issues , then start coding soon. I'm stuck in small problem and trying to figure it out . If I gave up , then I would post it here .
    but that example works fine in VB6 , I'll do my best to transform it to VB.NET .
