Still more ADO provider problems !!!

Hi Guys, Can anyone help please ???

I have a VB app which I install on various machines. On most machines it runs fine, but on some machines, I get the error message:

ADO could not find the specified provider.

I have installed DCOM 95/98 and MDAC 2.1, but I'm still getting the same problems

Does anyone know what the problem is ???

What database are you connecting to? Access 97 or 2000?

I'm connecting to Access 97.

You are most likely using Jet 3.51 which is your "Provider" that is why you're getting a provider problem. MDAC 2.1+ does not ship Jet 3.51 drivers so you must download MDAC 2.0 and install it or install the Jet 3.51 provider drivers. Hope this helps.
